A day trip to Regensburg.
I will take you today to south Germany, by the bank of Danube river. A city well preserved since the 16th Century, recently named a UNESCO world heritage site. Typical European, with a huge cathedral downtown and colorful buildings around it.
Yet, i will not speak of history and buildings today, rather, i will take you around with my Camera.
Certainly a nice city. Almost all local jobs are Tourism related. Cheap one as well compared to other cities in Bavaria. I hope u enjoyed the pics.

The Almost Ideal City !
It is total fun just to walk around there ... an interesting city, u can't loose sight of one beautiful building without getting your eyes caught by another.
It's different there from many aspects
- How peaceful it is, you just walk around worrying about nothing.
- Snowy, rainy or too sunny ... it's still unique in every season and enjoyable.
- You can adjust your clock on the train schedule of the subway system (S-Bahn).
- Bavarian cuisine is delightfully tasty!
- Enjoyable technology facilitating your day everywhere.
- So many places to visit ... so much to see.
- People are so quiet, you throw a needle in the subway and hear the ding!
- Everybody mind their own business.
- Tax free just encourages you to fill that bag up and stand on it to pull the zipper.
- Automobiles are Impressive by all means.
- No speed Limits :)
- It's never "complicated"
- Sometimes i walk around to try to spot even a tree leaf on the ground.
- Can't miss my favorite Italian restaurant Vi Vadi.
- You just can visit several major European cities within hours by rail.
- Hot snacks from Hauptbahnhof while walking in evening time.
- I never worry about getting lost, i actually want to get lost there.
- To walk fast along with germans and laugh trying to catch up with them.
- I get to know many people from different cultures.
- I stand there for hours watching the beautiful sculptures on the Marienplatz city hall, without ever getting bored. The only thing i saw that neat was Notre Dame de Paris.
- Classic live music played by bands in Marienplatz along with cold breeze.. mmm typical European.
It is simply amazing, It's the capital of Bavaria, It's Munich!
I feel nostalgia each time i leave you.
What are the odds ?!
Few years ago, i bought a nice 500 pieces puzzle and everybody contributed in it. After i finished it, i took a moment to overlook the beauty of this castle in the heart of the mountains. and said a silent WoW. (a picture of it is here on the blog)
Recently, i had the chance to visit Germany again.
in my last visit, i enjoyed nearly most of the attractions. so this time i just went to the tourist info-center in the Central station (hauptbahnhof) to check the brochures, and i was asking for directions for some museums, then in the queue I remembered that there was one castle i wanted to visit last time, but I had no time, as the trip needed switching between 3 trains. it was Neuschwanstein Castle, or the castle that inspired the artist to draw the famous Disney sleeping beauty castle. so i asked the guy if there was any organized trips for the Castle and he said yes, and that if i was interested i should get my ticket before the weekend as there were few seats. i got the ticket happily & i had a beautiful day-trip and was amazed by the castle, how it was placed in the heart of the Alps. how huge and magnificent it was, Expensive and charming from inside.
A month later, sitting alone thinking. I started to put things together & i discovered it was the same Castle i admired in my puzzle few years ago ! I even double-checked on the internet, what are the odds?

Taking things easy :)
A perfect summer day, and i am taking the ferry from Vancouver-Canada to Victoria-Vancouver Island. A whole day trip to the island that will cost some serious $s, I am very determined to take some good photos for memory, but how lucky !! at the beginning of the trip I spill the coffee on my only T-shirt, In normal days.... i could have been annoyed and that would ruin the day on me ... but something did not allow me to do so. instead i went down to the car in the lower deck .. took a jacket, wore it happily in the warm summer day, and started washing the shirt .. then had a funny conversation with a similar case on deck while we both wash our shirts .... and finally took this pic while hanging the shirt in the sea breath to allow it to dry before i reach my destination.
The funny thing ... instead of remembering that day with memories in the beautiful island... i now remember it with that situation :)
Amsterdam, Those were nice days.
Amsterdam, the way they pronounce it .... it's soo Dutch :)
Actualy it comes from "Amstel Dam" or A Dam on the River Amstel, the name is about 734 years old.
The city is clean and beautifuly designed with arcs of canals surfing the whole city center, a certain architecture design prevails. bicycles are all over the city, you will sometimes find multi story parking for bicycles and special side road lanes, you will be pretty much pleased just walking around and watching tourists with maps and normal traffic in the roads & canals.
You will also find a big collection of musems as well, museum for everything like arts, history, Writers ...etc. they are too many that they use "M" on the map for museums not for Metro, so i was using the map the first day logically thinking that "M" is for Metro, imagine what happened :)
Everything is legal in Amsterdam, that's why you will find many tourists who just come for the other stuff ;) and i don't think they are interested in the history of the city :)
Amsterdam is also the name of the ship in the above picture... well... that's the 1:1 replica, as the original one wrecked many years ago.
Some of the places we visited were: Madam Tussauds wax museum, was fun :) also The Amsterdam Dungeon, and that was 'Creepy'. as well as the NEMO Science museum which was interesting. And of course you can not miss the canal boat trip, quiet a nice experience, I even enjoyed the cold weather.

The City of Lights
The city is proudly showing its history almost around every corner.
La Tour Eiffel, This is nearly the logo for Paris , you can see it from almost everywhere in the city, beautifully illuminated with strong spotlights scanning the city every minute as if a lighthouse telling the world that Paris
I couldn't miss the pleasure of cruising the Seine river in one of the boats under the tower, a true pleasing trip around the heart of Paris
L'Arch de Triomphe. standing proudly at the Place de l'Étoile, honoring the ones who fought for France
and ended that day with a shopping in the Champs-Élysées street, and visiting the brands car show rooms there.
Notre Dame de Paris, the most beautiful cathedral I ever saw !! every single detail is stunning!! i couldn't believe the amount of work was done there. do you believe that it took them 182 years to complete this masterpiece ???!!! how could man be so persistent to build such thing over generations ?! and after that it stood 664 years till now to impress the millions. I couldn't speak a word inside, the place has a real reverence, one of the things you have to see yourself, no words can fairly describe it.
Basilique du Sacré-Cœur. when we arrived there, we did not know that it was located up a hill, with really many stairs, that we had to take a rest couple of times, but the real funny thing was when we arrived up there and discovered there was a telefrique :)) I was the trip guide so the 2 others were about to kill me. along the way up the stairs you could see people playing statues and an amazing football guy showing his skills in bouncing the ball not dropping it all day long. but stepping inside is another story ! a piece of heaven with all the nuns singing with the same frequency and that kind of echo that trembles your soul.
Musée du Louvre. A HUGE museum !! summing up the best of the human race in arts. and i don't understand how a man owned such a HUGE palace before being a museum, he couldn't possibly finish walking it in 3 days !!! we were running around for a whole day not covering even quarter the place. and I had the chance to meet the famous Monalisa after struggling to sneak a peak between the crowds.
You gotta visit Paris
A short trip to Alex, yet a nice one!
Decision was made in a second and the next thing we know is that we are cruising the highway.
weather was nice, water was ok, company was great, it wasen't soo crowded and we had a good seafood lunch including a nice Bass fish cooked in a "Singari" way, jumbo prawns, giant seafood soup and lots of salads and appetizers served which could be enough for 4 to have a complete luch :) aside with the freshly baked bread they make there.
I have to mention the stars on the highway back. it has been soo long since i saw any. check out more pics Here.
A relaxing day, and it went smooth, now back to work and KPIs :(
